1. What is Grower OS?

Grower OS is a unified operating system for rural commerce — farmers, livestock owners, agronomists, vets, pharmacies, dealers, buyers, boarding hosts, field workers, and back-office staff all share the same platform. It covers crop management, animal health, a marketplace, advisory, and a full set of governance tools for regional operations.

2. Install & first login

Android (sideload)

1. Download GrowerOS-latest.apk from downloads.interactpak.com/farmer/
2. Open the file from your Downloads notification.
3. If Android asks, tap Settings → Allow from this source, then go back and tap Install.
4. Tap Open when install finishes.

iPhone / iPad (PWA via Safari)

1. Open Safari and go to progressive-farmer.vercel.app
2. Tap the Share button (square with up-arrow).
3. Scroll and tap Add to Home Screen.
4. Tap Add — Grower OS appears as an app icon.

Web (any browser)

Just visit progressive-farmer.vercel.app.

First login

Two options:

• Password: phone number + password (assigned by your admin).
• SMS code: enter phone, we text you a 6-digit code, enter it — no password needed.

Never signed up before? Tap New to Grower OS? Create an account → on the login page, pick a role, fill in the form.

3. The 12 roles

Each user has a primary role (controls the default landing page) and can be granted additional roles by an admin.

4. Farmer workflows

Home dashboard

Your farm summary lives at /home. It shows active crops, task count, advisory feed, engagement score, and (if you've added animals) a summary card linking to /animals.

Farm, parcels, and boundaries

Add a farm at /farm. Inside each farm you can create parcels and capture their exact boundary using one of three methods:

• Walk My Field: open the parcel map, tap "Start walking", then physically walk the edge of your field. GPS points are captured automatically.
• Tap to draw: tap points on the satellite map to draw the boundary manually.
• Assisted: a field officer captures it for you.

The system calculates area (spherical excess formula, ±0.05% accuracy) and flags any variance >20% from your declared size.

Tasks, workers, wages

Create tasks at /tasks, assign to workers, capture proof (photo/video/GPS/signature) on completion, approve and pay wages.

Marketplace

List produce at /listings, by-products (fodder, straw, husk, bran) at /by-products, livestock at /animal-market. Browse dealer stores at /marketplace.

Advisory

Ask the AI assistant at /advisory for crop-specific guidance, pest ID via camera, or voice questions in Urdu.

5. Animal OS

Add animals at /animals/new. Supported species:

Herds

For flocks, use /herds instead of individual animals. Herds support bulk vaccination and total headcount tracking.

Health passport

Every animal has a chronological health passport: vaccinations, health events (illness, injury, treatment, deworming, calving, mortality), and vet cases. Open an animal's detail page to see the full timeline.

Opening a vet case

From an animal's page, tap "Open case" to describe symptoms. The rule-based triage engine scans your description for emergency markers (bleeding, down, bloat, seizure, rabies, FMD) and suggests a severity. Species-specific red flags auto-escalate: buffalo/cattle bloat → CRITICAL, poultry mass mortality → CRITICAL, camel surra → CRITICAL. Very young (<2 months) or very old (>10 years) animals get an automatic HIGH → CRITICAL bump.

6. Marketplace & by-products

Three parallel marketplaces share the same infrastructure:

• Primary produce (/listings) — cotton, wheat, rice, maize.
• By-products (/by-products) — fodder, straw, husk, residue, bran, stalks. Turn crop waste into income.
• Livestock (/animal-market) — list animals for sale, receive offers, close trades.

All listings go through admin moderation. Duplicates within 30 days get a red DUPLICATE badge in the moderator queue.

7. Advisory, weather & alerts

Grower OS monitors weather for every farm with a captured boundary. Daily at 09:00 PKT a cron job fetches the weather snapshot and writes notifications for heavy rain, frost, heat wave, and high wind alerts. You'll see them in your notification bell.

Pest outbreak heatmaps and demand forecasts are available to admins and agronomists at /admin-outbreaks and /admin-forecast.

8. Offline mode

Grower OS works offline. The app caches your farms, tasks, advisory, products, and parcels in the browser. Anything you create while offline (new tasks, new orders, task proofs) is queued and synced as soon as the network returns.

Sync status

• Top banner shows Online / Syncing N items / Offline.
• Tap details in the banner to open /sync-queue.
• The queue auto-retries with exponential backoff (30s → 8 min, max 5 attempts).
• Permanently failed writes land in a dead-letter state you can inspect or retry manually.

9. SMS & WhatsApp commands

Grower OS also works via plain SMS and WhatsApp — no smartphone needed. Text any of these commands to the campaign shortcode or WhatsApp number:

10. Dealer, vet, pharmacy

Dealer

Dealers have a store catalog, stock tracker, dealer-to-farmer orders view, and a credit receivables page showing every farmer's BNPL outstanding with overdue-first prioritisation and Call/Chat deep links.

Vet

Vets get an inbox of assigned cases plus an "Unassigned" queue they can claim. Each case has a diagnostic workflow, prescription writer, and a feedback form to rate the triage engine (helps us tune the rules).

Vet pharmacy

Pharmacies manage medicine batches with expiry and cold-chain tracking. The RX queue shows every active prescription that references a medicine they have in stock — tap Fulfill to deduct from batches in first-expiring-first-out order.

11. Admin & governance

The admin dashboard exposes twelve surfaces:

• Users — searchable user table with per-row role editor.
• System health — live platform stats.
• Territory map — users per district on a bubble heatmap.
• Outbreaks — pest/disease alerts grouped by district & week.
• Demand forecast — trailing-6-month moving average × seasonal index.
• Verification — approve verified-badge requests.
• Moderation — approve/reject produce listings, cancel animal listings.
• Approvals — general approval workflow inbox.
• Advisory log — every AI query with token + cost accounting.
• Audit log — append-only action history.
• Comms — cross-role chat, group calls, media sharing.

12. Support & troubleshooting

Common issues

• Can't log in: try the SMS code tab instead of password.
• App feels slow on 2G: enable offline mode (automatic on first launch), stay on the tab while it syncs.
• Photos won't upload: compress to under 6 MB, check network connection, watch the sync queue at /sync-queue.
• Triage looks wrong: tap "Rate triage suggestion" on the case detail page and tell us what went wrong — it tunes the engine.
